Promotionsrecht der Universität Bayreuth

Die Studierendenschaft an der Universität Karlsruhe fordert, dass der Universität Bayreuth das Promotionsrecht entzogen wird. Aus Solidarität mit den betroffenen Promovierenden fordern wir das KIT auf, ihnen eine angemessene Promotionsstelle am KIT anzubieten.

Begründung: 

»Wie in den letzten Tagen bekannt wurde, wurde an der Rechts- und Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Bayreuth eine in vielerlei Hinsicht ungenügende Dissertation[1] angenommen und dann auch noch mit summa cum laude bewertet. Da die Universität Bayreuth abstreitet[2], dass es sich in diesem Fall um eine Gefälligkeit für jemand, der über ein Unternehmen im Familienbesitz de facto Sponsor von Universität und Fakultät war[3], handelt, muss man davon ausgehen, dass dort Dissertationen nicht mit der gebotenen Sorgfalt geprüft und bewertet werden. Deshalb fordern wir im Interesse der wissenschaftlichen Redlichkeit, dass der Universität Bayreuth bis auf weiteres das Promotionsrecht entzogen wird.
