Beschluss: 

Die Semesterzeiten am KIT sollen an die international üblichen Standards angeglichen werden, um den Wechsel zwischen dem KIT und ausländischen Hochschulen zu erleichtern. Dies bedeutet insbesondere einen früheren Beginn des Wintersemesters, sodass sich die Vorlesungszeiten von Anfang September bis Weihnachten und von Mitte Februar bis Mitte Juni erstrecken. Gleichzeitig soll sich das KIT dafür einsetzen, diese neuen Semesterzeiten an allen Hochschulen in Deutschland zum Standard zu machen.
Um zu scharfe Übergänge zu vermeiden soll die Umstellung schrittweise über mehrere Semester hin erfolgen.

Dieser Beschluss wurde am 7. Juni 2011 durch einen neuen Beschluss ersetzt.
