Liebe Studierende,

am vergangenen Mittwoch wurde im Kontext der Karrieremesse eine Panzernachbildung auf dem AStA Container platziert und ein Banner angebracht. Dabei sind keine Schäden entstanden. Der AStA war an dieser Protestaktion nicht beteiligt.

Als Reaktion auf diese Aktion hat ein Mitglied des AStA die Polizei gerufen und damit die Lage eskaliert. Wir bitten um Entschuldigung für diese unverhältnismäßige Reaktion und für negativen Folgen für die betroffenen Studierenden.

Als AStA ist unser Anspruch, für unserer Studierenden einzustehen. Bei Protesten streben wir an, deeskalierend zu wirken. Wir werden uns intern damit beschäftigen, wie wir mit solchen Situationen in Zukunft umgehen.

Die Verfasste Studierendenschaft hat sich zuletzt 2017 zum Thema Rüstungsforschung positioniert. Eine aktualisierte inhaltliche Positionierung wird gerade angestrebt.

Dear Students,

this past Wednesday, in the context of the career fair, a tank replica was placed on the AStA container and a banner was displayed. No damage was caused in the process. The AStA was not involved in this protest.

In response to the protest, a member of the AStA called the police, which escalated the situation. We apologize for this disproportionate reaction and for any negative consequences experienced by the affected students.

As AStA, it is our mission to stand up for our students. In situations involving protests, we strive to act in a deescalating manner. We will internally discuss how to better handle such situations in the future.

The Student Representative Body last took a position on the topic of military research in 2017 and is currently working on updating this position.
