Equal Opportunities

Alisa Eisele und Maren Zimmermann

If you have any problems, questions or other concerns, you can contact chancengleichheit@asta-kit.de at any time.

Below you will find information on studying with children, studying with disabilities, applying for a name change, first-time academics, help with sexualized violence and mental health.

We are Alisa (she/her) and Maren (she/her). We are currently studying pedagogy and Teacher Training respectively at the bachelor’s level.

Since October 2025, we have been active as the Department for Equal Opportunities within the AStA and aim to advocate for all students who feel they are treated unfairly or who have difficulties reconciling private circumstances with their studies.

Our main areas of focus are the following fields of responsibility:

Alisa:
- Students with disabilities and chronic illnesses
- Student health
- Awareness on campus
Maren:
- Studying with family/children
- Gender equality
- Mental health – psychological stress during studies
- First-generation students

Maren is also a contact person for sexual harassment on campus. If you would prefer to speak with a male person, you can contact Sascha from the Social Affairs Department. We are currently working on an anonymous reporting portal.

In the respective areas of responsibility, we would like to support the relevant students in representing their interests in various working groups. In particular, we are available to advise them on the topics listed as well as on cross-sectional issues. To this end, we regularly exchange information with the relevant advice centers and contact persons at KIT.

If you have ideas on how we can make it easier to study with equal opportunities or simply want to talk about current projects, you are welcome to get in touch with us. We are always happy to receive new input.

If you would prefer to speak to us in person, we also offer weekly consultation hours on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the AStA containers
