Internationales

Mary Shopitan und Elisé Wamen

Hallo, wir sind Mary Shopitan (Chemieingenieurswesen) und Elisé Wamen (Bauingenieurwesen) und sind Referenten für Internationales beim AStA am KIT.

Durch unser Engagement möchten wir uns dafür einsetzen, dass alle internationale Studierende des KIT ein erfolgreiches Studium abschließen können.

Anliegen des Referats für Internationales:
Das Referat für Internationales hat die Aufgabe, Interessen und Bedürfnisse aller ausländischen Studierenden und der Studierenden mit Migrationshintergrund am KIT zu vertreten und zu kommunizieren. Hierzu ist eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem International Office, dem Studienkolleg und der Ausländerbehörde nötig. Zu unseren Tätigkeiten gehören unter anderem:

  • Unterstützung und Hilfe zur Bewältigung sozialer und rechtlicher Problemen: Aufenthalts– und Arbeitserlaubnis, finanzielle Schwierigkeiten, Wohnungssuche, Arbeitssuche, Versicherungen, Ausfüllen von Formularen etc.
  • Beratung bei studienbezogenen Anliegen: Zulassung, Einstieg ins Studium, Studienorganisation, Schwierigkeiten im weiteren Verlauf des Studiums, Fachwechsel.
  • Betreuung und Koordination der Deutschkursen des AStA.

  • Beratung für internationale Studierende, z.B. behördliche Vorgänge (Aufenthalt, Visum, etc).
  • den Kontakt zum International Students Office (IStO), dem Studienkolleg (STK) des KIT und dem International Student Center (ISC) des Studierendenwerks zu halten.
  • den AStA bei Begrüßungsveranstaltungen für internationale Studierende zu vertreten.
  • Veranstaltungen von internationalen Gruppen zu unterstützen.
  • Unterstützung und Vernetzung Internationaler Hochschulgruppen (HSG).

    • Sprachen in denen Beratungen angeboten werden können: Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch
